The PACIC (Package Against Inflation and Scarcity) is a strategy announced by the Mexican federal Register (DOF) on May 4, 2022.
It is a strategic agreement between the Mexican federal government and the business sector to combat rising prices of essential products.
The objective of this package is to contain price increases for basic necessities, such as those in the basic food basket.
The PACIC includes measures across production, distribution, and foreign trade. These include exemptions from import tariffs and the simplification of administrative procedures for importing certain inputs.
The PACIC is part of a government strategy to reduce inflation and the decline in Mexican household consumption.
The agreement covers 24 essential products: 22 food items and two basic necessities. These include:

• Eggs
